The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajeev Shukla reached Lahore on a two-day official visit.
Zaka Ashraf, the Management Committee chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), sent an invitation to BCCI officials to come and watch Asia Cup matches in Pakistan.
"We have come here on the invitation of PCB. We have very old cricket relations and we feel happy to be here," said Shukla while talking to the media at a local hotel in Lahore.
Before leaving India earlier today, Shukla said the visit will have no political means. "Nothing political, we are going there as a goodwill gesture as Pakistan are host of Asia Cup," he told Indian media. "We can't say anything about playing cricket there, it will be our government's decision," he added.
Binny, a former Indian cricketer, thanked Ashraf for inviting them. "Happy to be back in Pakistan after so long," he said.
"We will watch Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka match tomorrow," he added.
The BCCI delegation is also likely to watch Pakistan's Super 4 stage match, scheduled on September 6 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. They will also attend a dinner at Governor House today.
Meanwhile, Ashraf believes that this visit will revive cricket relations between the two neighbours.
Pakistan have won against Nepal and shared a point in a rain-hit India match on Saturday [September 2] to qualify for the next round of the Asia Cup.
